EVERTON: MOYES AHEAD OF BOLTON

/noticias.info/ By: Scott McLeod

David Moyes insists it is virtually impossible to expect to have a fully-fit squad to choose from at this stage of the Premiership campaign.

The Blues boss has had a host of injuries to contend with in his senior ranks all season.

And in recent weeks he has been deprived of midfielder Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta through suspension.

The duo are both now available again and could figure in Saturday's Premiership clash with Bolton.

And the manager admits it is unrealistic to expect to have a full squad.

Moyes told evertonfc.com: "You always need people free from injury and suspension but at this time of year especially you don’t get them because suspensions do kick in around this time of year, as do injuries as well.

"I don’t think beating Bolton earlier this season matters too much, I think it is another game. I have not taken anything for granted.

"They have coped really well with European football they have done terrifically. They have continued to make progress season after season which is a good sign for their club.

"We have been on a good run and hopefully Wednesday was just a game in which we didn’t perform as well as we should have done and we are looking forward to trying to put it right."

Bolton's style of play has been criticised in some quarters as overly-physical.

But Moyes is not going to back such claims.

He adds: "I think Bolton get the best out of their players and the way they play. I think football can be played in many ways it is not always completely pure.

"Sam gets the best out of his players and if you are playing against it you need to make sure you can compete and not get rolled over. So there’s many ways of playing football and you are going to come up against different teams and maybe Bolton are different to some other teams.

"You have seen already the problem they have caused Arsenal and other teams because of the way they play. But I am certainly not against that."

And Moyes revealed he is a big admirer of one Bolton player in particular.

Former Everton midfielder Gary Speed has proved a hit at the Reebok since moving from Newcastle in 2004. Moyes admits he was also interested in signing the former Welsh international.

He added: "I rate Gary Speed very highly; I would have like to have brought Gary back before he went to Bolton. They have had a good signing as you can see; he certainly doesn’t play as a 36 year old that is for sure." notas_de_prensa_archivo
