FIBA: France: Rigaudeau Turns Down Management Role
/noticias.info/ Ex-France skipper Antoine Rigaudeau has rejected the opportunity to become national team manager.
The 34-year-old former point guard, who won silver at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and helped France qualify for this year’s World Championships in Japan by finishing third at Euro 2005, had been in close contact with the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) in recent weeks.
But he refused an offer that would have meant working closely with head coach Claude Bergeaud.
“After many discussions and important efforts made by the FFBB, Antoine Rigaudeau has chosen to turn down the latest offers from the federation, who were proposing him an enlarged position of manager with the men’s national team," the FFBB said in a statement on Friday.
“The federation regrets this decision but respects it and remains open to any future projects with Antoine Rigaudeau.” notas_de_prensa_archivo
