MLB: TwinsFest 2006 set for this weekend
More than 60 current, former, and future Twins to appear 2006 single-game tickets on sale for the first time Friday
/noticias.info/ MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL -- TwinsFest 2006 is scheduled for Friday (January 27) through Sunday (January 29) at the Metrodome. More than 60 current, former and future Twins players including Torii Hunter, Joe Mauer, Joe Nathan, Shannon Stewart, Ron Gardenhire, Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Paul Molitor, Bert Blyleven, Tony Oliva, Kent Hrbek and Tom Kelly are scheduled to appear throughout the weekend. TwinsFest 2006 hours are Friday from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Presented by Dodge and your local Dodge Dealers, TwinsFest 2006 is an annual fund-raiser for the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, a nonprofit organization working to support and improve youth baseball, softball and education in the Upper Midwest. Since its inception in 1989, TwinsFest has raised $2.4 million for programs and organizations supported by the Twins Community Fund.
The Twins will launch 2006 single-game ticket sales at TwinsFest on Friday, January 27. Single-game tickets can also be purchased via the phone (612-33-TWINS or 1-800-33-TWINS) and web (www.twinsbaseball.com) beginning Friday, January 27 at 5:30 p.m., and at Twins Pro Shops beginning Saturday, January 28 at 10 a.m. Twins Pro Shop store hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday and Noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Twins' 2006 home schedule features visits from the Chicago Cubs (June 23-25), Los Angeles Dodgers (June 26-28), New York Yankees (April 14-16), Boston Red Sox (June 13-15), and three weekend home series against the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox (May 12-15, August 18-20, and September 29-October 1).
TwinsFest 2006 attractions include an exhibit from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, featuring Dave Winfield's Hall of Fame plaque and famous "last out" baseballs, including the balls which were in play when the 1987 and 1991 Twins were crowned World Champions.
Other event highlights include tours of the Twins clubhouse, auditions to sing the National Anthem prior to a 2006 Twins home game, silent and live auctions of sports collectables, the Upper Midwest's largest baseball card and collectables extravaganza, an opportunity to cast your vote for the Twins Hall of Fame at the twinsbaseball.com booth, free youth baseball clinics and a baseball interactive skills area.
Tickets for TwinsFest are currently on sale. All paid admissions to TwinsFest will receive a free Upper Club ticket for a 2006 regular season game (some restrictions apply) plus each day the first 1,000 fans receive a 2006 Twins calendar. Admission prices are $8 in advance for adults ($10 at the door) and $3 in advance for children ($5 at the door). Advance tickets can be purchased by calling (612) 33-TWINS or 1-800-33-TWINS, logging on to the Twins' website at www.twinsbaseball.com, visiting the Twins Pro Shops in Roseville, Apple Valley, or Ridge Square, or by visiting the Twins Metrodome box office.
