SOUTHERN AFRICA TOUR: Kamte gains valuable experience in Barcelona

/noticias.info/ Scotland’s David Drysdale secured the second European Challenge Tour victory of his career at the Peugeot Challenge R.C.G. El Prat after a final round of four under par 68.

Drysdale overhauled Sweden’s Johan Axgren at the top of the leader board to propel him from 76th to ninth place on the Challenge Tour Rankings.

Drysdale’s victory signals the end of a spell of dreadful luck for the 31 year old. He finished last season in 117th place on The European Tour Order of losing his Tour card by one place, and then finished one stroke away from regaining that same card at the Final Stage of The European Tour Qualifying School.

South Africa’s James Kamte finished tied for 37th position at three-over-par 291, while Anton Haig missed the cut posting four-over-par 148.

Kamte who finished 25th on the Sunshine Tourl Order of Merit in 2006 started off with a shaky 77 in the first round and recovered well with two back-to-back rounds of 70.

However in his final round Kamte dropped on three holes including a double drop on the second that sealed the South African’s fate as he finished with two-over for the round.
