ASIAN TOUR: PURDY FINISHES TIED 32ND AT THE MASTERS

/noticias.info/ April 10: Former Asian Tour regular Ted Purdy shot a one-under-par 71 as he finished tied 32nd position at The Masters on Sunday.

The American was five-over-par 293 after four days and finished 32nd alongside countryman Zach Johnson of United States and compatriot Brandt Jobe and Danish star Thomas Bjorn.

American Phil Mickelson claimed his second Masters title as he fired four birdies against a lone bogey on Sunday and finished with total of 283. A further two strokes back was Tim Clark of South Africa who emerged runner-up while Tiger Woods finished tied third three strokes off the pace.

Purdy produced his best round on the final day with six birdies, two bogeys and two double bogeys. He suffered a rollercoaster run on the front nine but after bogey on the par four 10th hole, Purdy sailed home with three consecutive birdies on the 13th, 14th and 15th holes followed by a final birdie on the last hole.

Purdy achieved his only eagle of the tournament at the par five 13th hole on the first day of the tournament where he finished even-par, then managed a 76 in the second round and shot a 74 in the third round.

Thai star Thongchai Jaidee missed the halfway cut after a 78 and 75 while Korea’s Choi Kyung-ju shot matching 76s. notas_de_prensa_archivo
