MLB: Robinson, two Washington players disciplined
/noticias.info/ The following discipline has been issued as a result of incidents that occurred during the Washington Nationals-New York Mets game at Shea Stadium on Thursday, April 6th. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Washington pitcher Felix Rodriguez has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for intentionally throwing at New York's Paul Lo Duca during the bottom of the eighth inning after warnings had been issued to both Clubs earlier in the game. Unless appealed, Rodriguez's suspension is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. If appealed, Rodriguez's suspension will be held in abeyance until the appeal process is completed.
Nationals manager Frank Robinson has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for the intentional actions of Rodriguez after a warning had been issued earlier in the game. Robinson is scheduled to serve his one game suspension today, when Washington plays at Houston.
Washington outfielder Jose Guillen has been fined an undisclosed amount for his aggressive actions, which incited a bench-clearing incident and caused warnings to be issued during the top of the fifth inning. notas_de_prensa_archivo
