PGA EUROPEAN TOUR: Telenet Joins the European Challenge Tour

/noticias.info/ The European Challenge Tour is delighted to announce that Telenet, one of Belgium’s leading suppliers of telephone, internet and digital television services, have become title sponsors of the Telenet Trophy, to be played at Limburg Golf and Country Club, Houthalen, Belgium, from May 18-21.

Telenet have been involved in sponsorship initiatives with the Royal Belgian Golf Federation for the past three seasons and have decided to expand their support of golf by sponsoring this €130,000 Challenge Tour event.

Through their work with the Royal Belgian Golf Federation, Telenet is committed to helping young Belgian players make their first steps on Tour and the Telenet Trophy will give Belgium’s top players the opportunity to test themselves against some of Europe’s most promising talents on the Challenge Tour.

Duco Sickinghe, Chief Executive Officer of Telenet said: “There has not been an official Tour event in Belgium for six years and we felt that the time was right to give our support to this initiative as an extension of our commitment to the Royal Belgian Golf Federation.”

Philippe Relecom, President of the Royal Belgian Golf Federation, said: “Belgium is a country rich in golf heritage and blessed with some of Europe’s most beautiful courses. We have a great number of talented young professionals and we hope that the Telenet Trophy will give them playing opportunities to further their careers.”
