NFL: EAGLES: MARSHALL'S DIARY: NFL EUROPE
Defensive tackle Keyonta Marshall continues his diary from NFL Europe, where he is starting for the Hamburg Sea Devils ...
/noticias.info/ "It's frustrating to be in control of the game until the fourth quarter and lose. We need to learn how to finish out games and put away our opponents. Once we begin to do that, I'm sure we will get the wins. We just need to learn to finish out that fourth quarter and we will be in good shape.
"It's been frustrating every week thinking you have the game in control, even if you think you have an opportunity to try and win that game in the final moments and have a great victory. Things haven't been going well for us this season, but that's not an excuse. You win some and lose some. We just haven't won one yet.
"I thought I played decent this past week. I feel like I'm improving every week. I'm not trying to build up my stats, I'm trying to improve in the framework of the defense because I feel that if I play within the framework of the defense I'm going to get my plays. It's just that these teams mostly pass on us. Teams have been getting big gains in the run game, but that's mostly on cutbacks and us getting out of our gaps. That's basic, everyday football.
"We go into the fourth quarter just fine, but I guess I have to give it that little extra. It's hard getting over that hump, but I'm holding myself accountable. I have to go the extra mile this week. If we all do, we should get over the hump and earn the win.
"It was hard being away from my family for the holidays. I talked to them while they were having Easter dinner, but it's not the first time I've been away from my family. I've been away for Thanksgiving and Christmas, both of those are really family-orientated holidays. They understand why I'm out here and what I'm trying to accomplish. There are things that have to be sacrificed and that's one of those things.
"My girlfriend, Colleen, will be in tomorrow. I'll take her out to dinner and we'll spend some time catching up. Luckily, I don't have to clean up the hotel room for her. It's pretty clean already, I'm not a messy guy and the housekeeping staff will be in to clean it up. She's actually pretty messy. She'll come home and just throw her things down on the floor. I try to pick everything up right away. In most relationships, it's the other way around.
"Since I spend most of my time in the hotel, it's good that we get the USA Today newspaper to get all of the news that is happening back in the United States. I go online to read other news like what's going on with hip-hop. You can watch CNN for news but while they speak in English, they all have a London accent. They cover the major stories that are happening in the U.S., but if you want something about your hometown or your teams you have to go onto a local Website.
"The computer is my best new friend. I didn't even know the computer can do the things that I make it do. I used to just go on the Internet and check my email, play some games on Yahoo. Now, there are so many doors that have opened up for me. I can watch live TV, but I wish I knew that so I could have bought the software before I left for Europe.
"As for movies, everyone on the team screams out 'I have movies, I have movies.' You just trade off with another player and watch them during the free time in your room. I must have watched an infinite amount of movies since I came out here. There are a few like 'Gladiator' which I've watched on road trips in college, but I never watched the whole thing. I always watched the first hour or so. I also saw 'Carlito's Way - Rise To Power.' I also saw 'Confidence,' which was a pretty good movie.
"I saw that MTV released their list of the all-time greatest emcees and they ranked Jay-Z as No. 1. No way. I wouldn't say No. 1. It's a two-way tie for me, Pac and Biggie. There's no question for me. Maybe of the people who are out right now, you could say Jay-Z is No. 1, but all-time greatest? There's no way. If I had to choose between Pac or Biggie, I couldn't. See I'm from the Midwest, so I can support them both." notas_de_prensa_archivo
