ROLAND GARROS: Streaky Clijsters blows hot and cold to advance

Two-time Roland Garros finalist Kim Clijsters overcame blustery conditions on Monday to move into the second round with a 6-0 7-6(4) victory over Virginie Razzano of France.
"I started strong but I made way too many mistakes after that," said Clijsters, who hammered 17 winners to Razzano's eight, and committed 32 unforced errors. "This is the most wind I had to play in. It was pretty difficult."
From the outset, Clijsters fired on all cylinders, pounding the 23-year-old Frenchwoman at will.
The girl from Bilzen, ranked No2 in the world, broke the hapless Razzano three times, racing through the first set 6-0 in 22 minutes.
But just when 22-year-old Clijsters had the match in control, she suffered a monumental letdown. The 66-ranked Razzano drove her way back into the contest, breaking the former world No1 in the second game to take a 5-2 lead.
Sadly though, the Frenchwoman couldn't maintain the momentum and squandered two set points at 4-5 to let Clijsters even things out at 5-all.
The reigning US Open champion took back control and broke down the resistance of the Frenchwoman in a contested tie-breaker.
The Belgian is now slated to meet the winner of the contest between Mariana Diaz-Oliva and Conchita Martinez Granados.
