2006 FIFA WORLD CUP: 'Both teams deserved a point'
/noticias.info/ by FIFAworldcup.com
TSG analysis by Rodrigo KENTON (CRC)
Tunisia and Saudi Arabia treated us to a very, very good game in Munich today, and I think that a draw was a fair result – both teams deserved a point. They were a bit cagey to begin with, playing the ball around the back and the midfield, without raising the tempo of the game. They were stalking each other; it was a very cautious affair.
Once Tunisia had taken the lead, through a very simple goal, Saudi Arabia started to take the initiative, playing the better football and putting the Tunisians under pressure. Tunisia were reduced to trying to punt the ball forward to Zied Jaziri after just one or two passes.
In the second half, the rhythm and the quality of the match improved, and the play became very intense. Saudi Arabia equalised and then took the lead just before the end, when substitute Sami Al Jaber scored with his first touch. It was gripping stuff in the final minutes, with Tunisia notching a deserved equaliser in added time. It was a great game for fans of both countries. notas_de_prensa_archivo
