PGA TOUR: Faldo joins The Golf Channel's team of broadcasters
/noticias.info/ ORLANDO, Fla. -- Six-time major champion Nick Faldo will join The Golf Channel's team of broadcasters and will serve as the network's main analyst for PGA TOUR coverage, the network announced Tuesday.
Faldo has agreed to a multiyear contract beginning in 2007, when The Golf Channel kicks off its 15-year partnership with the PGA TOUR as the exclusive cable home for its official money events. The network will carry full, four-round coverage of the first three events on the 2007 tournament calendar -- the Mercedes Championships, Sony Open in Hawaii and Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
"Nick's incomparable style, intimate knowledge of the game and credibility as a six-time major winner will take our coverage to the next level," Golf Channel executive producer Tony Tortorici said in a statement.
Faldo, who turns 49 on July 18, has won three Masters and three British Open titles among his 42 worldwide victories. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1997.
"I've gained some valuable experience and insight into broadcasting over the last couple of years, and I am now looking forward to taking it to the next level," Faldo said in a statement. "With The Golf Channel's long-term commitment to the TOUR, it really was an easy decision for me to make." notas_de_prensa_archivo
