Excellent play from tee to green, good touch around the greens and strong play on the outward nine propelled Sean O'Hair to his first win on the PGA TOUR at the John Deere Classic last year. Using data provided by ShotLink, the statistics behind O'Hair's victory are examined below.
•Long and accurate, O'Hair ranked seventh in both driving distance and driving accuracy for the week. He hit 81.9 percent of the greens in regulation to finiish first in the field in ball striking.
•O'Hair entered the event ranked 167th in proximity to the hole on scrambling attempts, averaging 10 feet, 3 inches. At the John Deere Classic he was second in proximity, averaging 4 feet, 4 inches, and led the field in scrambling success.
•O'Hair only missed nine putts inside 10 feet and went 62 for 71 on putts inside of 10 feet.
•For the week, O'Hair made three putts over 25 feet -- including a 49-foot, 2-inch birdie putt on the fifth hole in round one.
•Converting 18 of his greens in regulation into 17 birdies and an eagle, O'Hair was under par 25 percent of the time.
•O'Hair led the field in par-4 scoring with an average of 3.80 and did not record a bogey on a par 4 the entire week.
•The three bogeys he recorded for the week occurred on two of the par 3s -- two on the 12th hole and the other on the seventh. He was able to follow two of the three with birdies on the next hole, though.
•Even though O'Hair averaged under par on both nines, he did most of his scoring on the front side averaging two strokes better than he did on the back nine. notas_de_prensa_archivo
