UNITED: Foster has split loyalties
Ben Foster is non-committal about who he wants to win this Saturday's clash between United and Watford.
/noticias.info/ The Reds goalkeeper, at the start of his second season on loan at Vicarage Road, is not allowed to face Sir Alex Ferguson's side due to FA rules.
"It is frustrating really," he told ManUtd.com. "I'd have loved to have played but it's a Premier League rule.
"It would be a bit of an awkward one for me, it's a bit of a conflict of interests. But they're the rules and obviously I'm a bit disappointed, I want to play like I would in any game."
When put on the spot and asked which side he wanted to win on Saturday, Foster remained firmly perched on the fence with his answer.
He laughed: "You can't ask me that! Obviously United are my team but I'm on loan to Watford for the season.
"I want Watford to do well and I want United to go on and win the Premiership. They've started quite well but... on Saturday I think football will be the winner!"
The 24-year-old stopper revealed that he had been a peripheral figure in Friday's training session, perhaps because Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd feared some skullduggery.
"I wasn't involved much in training today," he admitted. "I don't think the boss wanted me to see what was going on, so he bombed me out a bit." notas_de_prensa_archivo
