CHELSEA FC: Shevchenko: This time will be better

/noticias.info/ With the Chelsea squad in the north-west, looking to make amends for the defeat at Middlesbrough, Andriy Shevchenko can see signs that point to an improved result.

The former Serie A star knows plenty about winning football matches and it is a source of frustration that both his Chelsea goals so far have come in 2-1 defeats.

“I want to score goals when the team is winning. The two goals, they were good for me but the team lost so it is difficult,” he explained, talking to Chelsea TV in his improving English.

“It was a good cross from Bridgey after a perfect combination, and my first Premiership goal was very important to me,” he says looking back on the game at the Riverside.

“The team was compact. There was a little error in defence with ten minutes left in the game. Middlesbrough score and it is a difficult situation. It is very important to play for a win, but ten minutes is a short period of the game and it is very important the mentality.”

On the night, Chelsea neither recovered to win nor held on for a point, Middlesbrough scoring again near the final whistle. Shevchenko isn’t anticipating a repeat at Ewood Park.

“The next game is more opportunity and the team will play better in attack and defence. The team is compact and I think next time the team plays very well.” notas_de_prensa_archivo
