SUZUKI RACING: HOPKINS FASTEST IN MOTEGI 1ST PRACTICE

John Hopkins has taken provisional pole for Sunday’s Japanese MotoGP in today’s opening practice session at the Motegi circuit.

Hopkins set a time of 1’48.222 on his final lap to jump ahead of Valentino Rossi as Rizla Suzuki MotoGP newcomer Kousuke Akiyoshi posted 14th best time (1’49.587) and Chris Vermeulen 17th with a best lap of 1’50.320.
