EVERTON FC: HUTH COULD REPLACE WOODY FOR BORO
/noticias.info/ by Matthew Gamble
Robert Huth could be in line for his first Premiership game for Middlesbrough when they play Everton this weekend.
The German is in line to replace Jonathan Woodgate, if the loanee is, as expected, ruled out with a leg problem.
Huth, signed for £6m, has been struggling since he joined Boro on deadline day.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: "He (Woodgate) took a bang to his leg on Thursday at the end of training and he'll be a doubt for Saturday but we'll have to assess it.
"There's Robert and Matthew Bates waiting in the wings.
"Robert's had three full matches now as well as an hour in a reserve game."
Southgate is looking forward to integrating Huth into his backline.
"Now he's back into full training it gives us the opportunity to work with him. It works in both ways because he gets used to the way we defend as a team, which is a bit different to Chelsea's style of play," he explained. notas_de_prensa_archivo
