Manchester United : Duo scoop monthly awards

Sir Alex Ferguson has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for October, while Paul Scholes has scooped the Player of the Month award.

/noticias.info/ United beat Newcastle, Wigan, Liverpool and Bolton to take a maximum 12 points from their four Premiership games across the month.

Scholes' form was integral to United's results, and he marked his 500th Reds appearance against Liverpool with the opening goal to kickstart a vital win over Rafael Benitez's side.

Jim Hytner, of the Barclays Awards Panel, said: “Manchester United continue to set the pace this season and Sir Alex has proven he is very much at the top of his game in his twentieth year in charge at the club.”
