Liverpool FC : PICTURED: ANFIELD'S NEW LIGHT SHOW

/noticias.info/ Having bought a new Dutch striker in August, Liverpool returned to Holland to make a very different investment soon afterwards - a set of 10 state-of-the-art lighting rigs to help improve the quality of the famous Anfield pitch.

The new lighting rigs - unveiled for the first time this week - are designed to help the grass grow even during the winter months. With the Centenary Stand blocking out light from the pitch even during the summer, the rigs - supplied by Dutch firm SGL - will hopefully ensure the pitch looks just as good in January as it does in August.

"By controlling all growth factors within the stadium it creates the perfect conditions for growing grass," explains Anfield Stadium and Operations Manager, Ged Poynton. "Thanks to these lights, it is possible to have a high quality pitch that can be used more intensely throughout the year. Our aim is to produce a surface of good quality in winter months when normally it is at its worst." notas_de_prensa_archivo
