INTER: MANCINI: "THREE FUNDAMENTAL POINTS
/noticias.info/ MILAN - "We knew it would be a very hard game; Parma are in good form at the moment and they came from some positive results; they're playing well and have players who are young and who run, and they had nothing to lose today," said a satisfied Roberto Mancini after Inter's 2-1 win at the Tardini. "And Inter have always found it very hard at Parma; we earned three fundamental points tonight.
"Parma's goalkeeper made some extraordinary saves in the second half. I'm pleased with the boys' performance in a game that wasn't at all easy. Parma ran a lot and played well. Inter must continue like this; everyone says we will easily win the championship but I believe it will be a fight to the end, probably with Roma and Palermo. There are twenty-seven games to go; if we want to win we have to continue to play by fighting and believing until the end like we did today."
Replying to a question on the sending-off of Ibrahimovic, the Inter boss said: "They show yellow cards for anything nowadays. You can't dismiss players for these things. Ibra kicked the ball a couple of metres away, not thirty. There may be a rule, but if applied strictly each match would end eight against eight."
Mancini was also asked about the absence of Stankovic, disqualified for the Tardini clash. "He's a great player who can score goals, defend, and who is good at everything," replied Mancini. "He's a complete player and can cover a number of roles. But tonight Figo, Solari and Mariano Gonzalez, who made the assist for Cruz' goal, all did well. How much do we miss Cambiasso? As much as Stankovic. He is another extraordinary player; we're hoping to have him on the bench next Sunday so we can give a breather to Vieira and Dacourt who have always played.
"Will Adriano also be available? He's training well and on Thursday we will make an assessment and see what condition he's in. He will be in the team when he's fit and can give the team what he's capable of giving." notas_de_prensa_archivo
