Fabrice Muamba, Sebastian Larsson, Nicklas Bendtner (Birmingham), Vito Mannone (Barnsley)
Birmingham City 2-0 Burnley, November 11
Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larsson all played a full 90 minutes as Birmingham notched their fifth straight league win against Barnsley at St Andrews. An injury-time strike from midfielder Neil Danns finally saw off Andy Ritchie’s side after Gary McSheffrey had opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break. Danish starlet Bendtner could have broken the deadlock within 60 seconds but failed to capitalise after a quick Birmingham breakaway. Vito Mannone, the 18-year-old goalkeeper on loan at Barnsley, did not feature.
Arturo Lupoli
Coventry City 1-2 Derby County, November 11
Arturo Lupoli was introduced as a 73rd-minute substitute as Derby moved up to fifth in the Championship with a 2-1 win at Coventry. Jonathan Stead opened the scoring for the visitors on 11 minutes but veteran striker Stern John poked Coventry level 11 minutes later. Derby secured their fifth away win of the season when Steve Howard glanced home a header on 76 minutes. The result leaves the Rams eight points behind leaders Cardiff.
Kerrea Gilbert
Cardiff City 1-0 Burnley, November 11
Kerrea Gilbert did not feature as Championship leaders Cardiff retained top spot with a 1-0 win against Burnley at Ninian Park. Riccardo Simeca fired the only goal of the game on 21 minutes to leave Dave Jones’ side with 36 points from 17 league outings. notas_de_prensa_archivo
