PALESTINE: Arab Foreign Ministers Decide Immediate Unlock Aid Embargo On Palestinian People
/noticias.info/ CAIRO, November 13, 2006 (IPC+ Agencies) - -Foreign ministers of Arab nations decided in their emergency meeting yesterday in Cairo to break the aid embargo on the Palestinian people immediately as the head of the Arab League, Amro Mousa underlined that that means the Arab banks are no longer dedicated to " any restrictions" mandated by the international transaction no to funnel funds to the Palestinian government.
The ministers decided to " break the blockade on the Palestinian people immediately and called the international community to uplift all the measures of embargo on the Palestinian People."
They also expressed their " strong resentment of USA veto Saturday in the United Nation security council against Arab bill condemning the Israeli deadly artillery attacks against Beit Hanoon which killed 91 residents mostly were women and children and called for a peace conference attended by Arab parties, Israel and permanent state member at UN security council in order to reach full and equitable solution for the Arab- Israeli conflict."
Palestinian foreign Affair minister Mahmoud Al Zahar told the reporters after the meeting that the decision of unlock the aid embargo " is very important and a springboard to uplift the international embargo."
Al Zahar elaborated that the decision of unlock the blockade " will be conducive to form a national unity government," asserting that an agreement between Hamas and the President Mahmoud Abbas that no feasible measures for forming the new government without assurances to end the international embargo and release the prisoners including ministers and lawmakers.
He also said that the Palestinian delegation failed to get the Arab foreign ministers agreement to reopen Rafah border terminal without Israel's approval.
Sending aids to the Palestinian National Authority only run through the mechanism set out by the International Quartet following a decision not send direct aids to the Palestinian since Hams has taken the office in late March.
Arab foreign minister viewed USA veto aborted resolution by the United Nations Security Council condemning Israel for last week's lethally military offensive on Beit Hanooon as " unfriendly towards the Arab Nations … and a message of encouragement for Israel to keep on its aggressions."
They also called for " international probe on Beit Hanoon Massacre and the Israeli violations against the Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories and dispatching international troops to protect the Palestinian people." They also decided to call for urgent meeting for the human right council to discuss the Israeli violations against the Palestinians."
