PALESTINE: Anata Chocked off by Grabbing more Lands for the Apartheid Wall

/noticias.info/ GAZA, Palestine, November 13,2006 (IPC+ Agencies) - -Israeli occupation forces is intended to take over wide swath of Anata town, north east of Occupied east Jerusalem for military purposes and complete the building of the Apartheid Wall .

Occupation commander of the West Bank issued yesterday a military proclamation to expropriate lands for military purposes and to build the apartheid wall north the illegal settlement of Maaleh Adomim at the expense of the Palestinian town Anata.

Rural council chief of Anata Mohammed Allan elaborated that the proclamation issued on late November 5 has not been submitted to the rural council or the DCO office in Jerusalem but the council get knowledge by casual when one of its workers headed the Israeli civil administration in AL Ezarya for information.

Alan said that the decision aims at expanding the illegal Jewish settlement at the expense of Anata town whose its indigenous residents mainly planting grains for livelihood . he considered such plan as the most dangerous plan of land expropriation ever faced by Anata since 1967 which devastates all economic leases.

" the decision is to choke off the residents from all directions and shut down all breathing artilleries of the town in particular the eastern ward and canton all the arable lands, estimated about 20,000 Dunum.

According to the proclamation, the route of the apartheid wall will run from Adomim junction to northward then westward until Antout camp. Alna underscored that such lands officially registered in behalf of the Anata residents.

It is important to mention that Anata town is coiled from the north by the Illegal Jewish settlement Beghat Zaeve and the Apartheid wall and southern eastward Antout camp and 70,000 road that spilt by the wall and divided into Israeli and Palestinian. In the westward of the town there has been a permanent Israeli military checkpoint at the entrance of Shuafat camp.

Anata is the main link between the West Bank and Jerusalem as its is the eastern gate of the city and its population make up 18,000 . all of its life facets is interrelated with Jerusalem city notas_de_prensa_archivo
