This week we re-live Patrick Vieira's thunderous strike in Arsenal's 3-1 victory at Highbury in April 1998.

Nicolas Anelka had already scored a goal either side of the interval to give the Gunners a two-goal cushion when Vieira collected Marc Overmars' lay-off 50 yards from goal. As the Newcastle defence backed off the French powerhouse let fly with a venomous strike which flew into the top corner past goalkeeper Shay Given.

Warren Barton grabbed a consolation for the Magpies but Arsenal were worthy winners on the day. A little over three weeks later they were champions and went on to clinch the Double in Arsène Wenger's first full season at the helm.
