GOLF: PGA TOUR: Q&A: Kuchar's must-dos and dreams of winning the Grand Slam

/noticias.info/ Editor’s note: This is the second in a series of Q&As with the 22 Nationwide Tour graduates. In this edition, Matt Kuchar, winner of the 2006 Henrico County Open, who regained his PGA TOUR card for 2007 when he finished 10th on the Nationwide Tour money list.

PGATOUR.com: Tell me three things not related to golf that you consider must-dos before you’re on the wrong side of the divot?

KUCHAR: Start a family. See some of the world without my golf clubs. Try to find a way to get more kids involved in athletics. I think that growing up with sports you learn to deal with situations life throws at you.

PGATOUR.com: What is your wildest golf dream?

KUCHAR: To win the Grand Slam and then retire.

PGATOUR.com: What aspect of the Nationwide Tour will you miss most next season?

KUCHAR: The competitive, laid-back atmosphere.

PGATOUR.com: What was your welcome-to-professional-golf moment?

KUCHAR: Receiving my first earnings check from the PGA TOUR.

PGATOUR.com: You’ve been granted a 60-minute sit-down with any figure in the world of golf, living or dead. What’s your first question == and to whom would you address it?

KUCHAR: It would be Jack Nicklaus. The question would involve practice and preparation. I’m always looking to put in better practice sessions so that I can go to tournaments better prepared.

PGATOUR.com: Describe the menu, from soup to nuts, of your next title celebration dinner. And name the wine pairings.

KUCHAR: Best not to get too far ahead of yourself. I’ll tell you when I get my next victory.

PGATOUR.com: Name five songs in your iPod.

KUCHAR: Jay-Z’s Encore, Will Smith’s Summertime, John Mellencamp’s Small Town, John Legend’s Same Time and Justin Timberlake’s My Love.

PGATOUR.com: Other than winning a tournament, what would make next year a success?

KUCHAR: Making THE TOUR Championship because I live in Atlanta and the East Course is my home course. So that always has been a goal of mine.

PGATOUR.com: Who would you most like to hit balls next to, and why?

KUCHAR: Bryce Molder, my old Georgia Tech teammate. I admire his game and it would be a fun, relaxing session. notas_de_prensa_archivo
