PSV are looking for reinforcements
/noticias.info/ PSV eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over Heracles, but Ronald Koeman indicated again at the post-match press conference that PSV want to strengthen their squad. He commented only briefly on the game.
Koeman maintained that PSV must strengthen their attacking options, preferably with a player that can reach the goal line. "We would like to sign a player that can deliver fine crosses. Tonight we played midfielders on the flanks, as no genuine wingers were available. So we are looking for reinforcements. We put in a fine performance tonight, but we need players that can round their marker and deliver crosses from the goal line", explained Koeman, who did not want to take any chances with Farfán, who suffers from a hamstring strain and Patrick Kluivert, who played the second half.
Heracles coach Ruud Brood’s game plan was to start counter attacks, buoyed by strong midfield play. "I think we were well-organised”, said Brood. "We created one chance. But when we were reduced to ten men after 25 minutes, the game was virtually killed off. I can accept the red card, but I think the foul was committed just outside the area, so the referee should never have given a penalty. It’s a shame, for we then knew the game was over. I was afraid we would be hammered, but PSV have been kind and did not play high tempo football." Ronald Koeman agreed and added there was nothing more to say. notas_de_prensa_archivo
