PSV: Mendez feels at home with PSV
/noticias.info/ The other day 27-year-old Edison Mendez completed a permanent move to PSV. The international midfielder from Ecuador signed a new three-and-a-half year deal to tie him at the Philips Stadium until the summer of 2010.
Mendez joined PSV on a one-year loan from LDU Quito last summer, but has made a great impression on the PSV technical staff, so PSV offered him a permanent deal and Mendez will wear the PSV shirt until the summer of 2010.
He arrived at De Herdgang a relative stranger, but his team mates, coaches and fans soon appreciated his skills. Edison Mendez is a grown-up, versatile and physically strong player who never shirks his attacking and defensive duties. "I am happy and must thank the coaches, the board and the people at the club. I want to repay them for the confidence, because as a player who is on loan you always feel you need to prove yourself. I will now have peace of mind and focus on my game the next three-and-a-half years. I feel at home here."
Mendez: "My family lives in town and we like it a lot. PSV have created ideal circumstance to perform well at the highest level in Holland as well as Europe, what with the stadium, the training ground and all the people at the club. I am glad I am able to be part of this team”, claimed Mendez. notas_de_prensa_archivo
