NHL: PENGUINS: POWER-PLAY GOALS GUIDE CANADIENS TO 6-3 WIN

/noticias.info/ Montreal parlayed four power-play goals into a 6-3 home win Saturday night over the Penguins.

Evgeni Malkin banged in a rebound of Erik Christensen’s shot with 7:55 left in the first period for a 1-0 Penguins lead. Christensen’s shot from the far point deflected off Cristobal Huet’s pads right to Malkin, who was crashing the net. He tapped in the puck for the goal. Brooks Orpik had the other assist.

Michael Ryder’s slap-shot deflected off the crossbar and into the net with 1:26 left on the clock to knot the game at 1-all.

Alain Nasreddine scored his first NHL goal with 0.2 seconds left in the period. Flying through the slot, he took Sidney Crosby’s pass from behind the net and one-timed it into the goal. Mark Recchi had the other assist.

Alexei Kovalev one-timed a shot past Marc-Andre Fleury with 10:31 remaining in the second period to knot the game at 2-all.

Saku Koivu scored with 4:10 left in the period for a 3-2 Montreal lead.Souray rifled a slap-shot past Fleury for a power-play goal with 2:35 remaining in the second period.

Koivu deflected a shot past Fleury with five seconds left for a power-play goal and a 5-2 Montreal advantage.

Christensen tallied with 5:07 to go when he slipped a puck past Huet. Max Talbot hustled to get the puck behind the net and fired it out front to Christensen, who scored. It sliced the Penguins’ deficit to 5-3.

Maxim Lapierre tallied an empty-net goal to seal the decision for Montreal.

Pittsburgh returns home Tuesday to take on the St. Louis Blues at Mellon Arena at 7 p.m. notas_de_prensa_archivo
