UEFA EURO 2008: Sammarinese mourn Crescentini

/noticias.info/ San Marino international defender Federico Crescentini has died at the age of 24 after drowning while on holiday in Acapulco, Mexico, on Friday.

Tragic accident
The 24-year-old is reported to have dived into the sea in order to help a friend in trouble, but having rescued her, he then disappeared into the waves. His body was subsequently found and formally identified. The nephew of San Marino Football Federation president Giorgio Crescentini, the defender made six appearances for the national team, most recently coming on as a substitute in the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers against Republic of Ireland and the Czech Republic.
