FOOTBALL EUROPE: Lyon set up Le Mans semi

Malouda opener
Captain Florent Malouda put the French champions ahead early in the second half, and although Monsef Zerka hit back for Nancy, Malouda set up a second goal for Sidney Govou before Alou Diarra made it 3-1. "Self-confidence was the key," said Govou.

Le Mans success
Lyon will now take on Le Mans in the semi-final on 16 or 17 January after the Manceaux won 2-1 at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Headers from Brazilian Grafite and Mamadou Samassa put the visitors ahead with captain Mickaël Isabey pulling a goal back for Sochaux.
