FOOTBALL EUROPE: Polozani No1 in F.Y.R. Macedonia
/noticias.info/ FK Makedonija GP Skopje forward Artim Polozani has been named the best player in F.Y.R. Macedonia for 2006 while S.S. Lazio striker Goran Pandev has won the award for being the best Macedonian player in a foreign team.
'Great honour'
Polozani began the year with FK Shkendija 79, who he helped to their first Macedonian Cup final and has continued his good form since his summer move to Makedonija. "It's a great honour for me," the 24-year-old said. "I have best wishes for my previous club FK Shkendija and hope that FK Makedonija GP can win the title this season."
Other awards
Pandev has been in Italy since 2001 and recently helped inspire Lazio's 3-0 derby win against AS Roma. FK Rabotnicki's Serbian forward Ivan Pejčić was named best foreign player in F.Y.R. Macedonia. League leaders Rabotnicki are team of the year after winning a second straight title and reaching the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Ristić impresses
FK Sileks forward Stevica Ristić was the top scorer of the year, while ZFK Skiponjat has a female double - named women's team of the year while their attacker Milka Arsova is best women's player.
