UEFA CUP: Kerkum leads Rotterdam giants

/noticias.info/ Gerard Kerkum has been appointed chairman of Feyenoord on an interim basis. He will lead the club until the end of the season when Dick van Well will take over.

Protests
The news follows Jorien van den Herik's decision to step down on 12 December after 14 years at the helm. Van den Herik's running of the club had been criticised by Feyenoord supporters whose protests paved the way for a change of leadership.

Van Well role
Kerkum, 76, was head of the committee that advised Van den Herik to resign ten days ago. He captained Feyenoord in the Sixties and was chairman himself between 1982 until 1988. Van Well, 58, is chairman of construction company Dura Vermeer and has been involved with the club since he first started supporting Feyenoord in the Sixties. notas_de_prensa_archivo
