NHL: SENATORS: Redden returns to the lineup tonight against Tampa Bay

/noticias.info/ The Ottawa Senators will have all-star defenceman Wade Redden in the lineup tonight when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Scotiabank Place.

The club’s alternate captain said he’s fit to play in tonight’s game after participating in today’s morning skate. Redden has missed the last nine games with a chest injury.

“I’m excited to get back in,” Redden said. “I’m feeling good and, obviously, (the injury) is progressing nicely. I can do everything I want to do out there.”

Senators head coach Bryan Murray spoke about what Redden’s presence means to the team.

“He’s a creative guy. He helps the players get out of their own zone a lot more efficiently than we have been doing. He brings a presence to the power play. He makes our team considerably better when he plays.”

Redden says it’s always frustrating to miss games because of injury.

“I feel the losses, too,” said Redden. “Watching, you get frustrated when we’re struggling like we are.”

Redden says it’s important to play at a high level in every game now.

“I just want to play my game (tonight), and that’s what everyone has to do. Every win is so important now. We’re not going to win every game, but we have to be competitive in every game we play and give ourselves a chance to win.” notas_de_prensa_archivo
