AC MILAN: Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he is right behind Marco Borriello and the substance in question is not used by anyone at Milanello.

/noticias.info/ MILANELLO - Carlo Ancelotti opened his press conference with a comment on Marco Borriello's case. The striker will not be able to travel to Udine for Saturday's match following the results of the first drug test but the coach said: 'He was found positive after a test on November. We are valuating and looking to understand what happened. Certainly, on the part of the club that the product which appeared is not used by Milan. Ours is a serious club in terms of this, Milan check all its players closely. What happened didn't occur within Milanello, it could have escaped anyone but it's certainly not something that is used at Milanello. He was taking something for toothache at that time but I don't believe it depends on this, the only thing that can be said about this medicine is that it is not a steoride but a cortisone that is used for allergies and inflammation, but not used at Milanello. I am sorry, especially for the player who is now suspended and we will look to undertand what happened for his best interests. He's definitely not going through a good period but we are all close to him. If he has done something negligent, I am sure it was by chance.'

Ancelotti then looked ahead to tomorrow's game: 'The game with Udinese is all together another story, it's the last game of what has been a very difficult year especially the last part. We want to end 2006 in the best possible manner, also because we want to prove that we are still a strong side despite the injury problems we are dealing with. Udinese are strong but we will play with three strikers. It is possible that I’ll field the same sort of system used against Catania. Seedorf will definitely play because he sat out on Wednesday.

Looking ahead: 'It's a difficult period. We are convinced that from January 2 the music will change. We have gone through a tough period even if we have managed to limit the damage. We are in the Champions League, we are still in the running for fourth spot even the points penalty has left us out of the chase for top spot. The essential thing in 2007 is to be in the top four and do as well as possible in the Champions League. After January 2, we will have the players for ten days and we can work on fitness and tactics. We'll have everyone apart from Nesta and Serginho back so I feel that is an advantage. Maldini has had a problem with his adductor but will be ready on January 2 while Favalli, Costacurta and Ambrosini will be back. Dida will be back January 8 or 9. The fact that there so many teams ahead of us who are balanced is an advantage for us in our chase. The important thing is get points at the moment.'

As regards certain players: 'Ambrosini is fine and will go back to Belgium between December 27 and 30. Then he will join the team. Gilardino has made his breakthrough and it's benefiting Kakà too. Any team would want a player like him but it's up to him as there is nothing saying he has to stay but he has decided to stay here for some time.' notas_de_prensa_archivo
