Head to head: (League Only):

At Anfield: Liverpool 6 wins, Watford 1 win, 0 Draws.

Overall: Liverpool 10 wins, Watford 3 wins, 1 Draw.

The sides have met only twice in the Premiership. In 1999-2000 Liverpool lost for the only time at home to the Hornets thanks to a solitary Tommy Mooney goal.

From that last league meeting on this ground only Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia, Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler survive.

No player has ever scored a hat-trick in league fixtures between the sides.

The sides last met in the League Cup Semi-Final in 2005. Liverpool won both legs 1-0 thanks to goals from Steven Gerrard.

Steve Finnan made his league debut against Watford for Birmingham City in September 1995-and he scored in the 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road.

Jermaine Pennant made his league debut while on loan at Watford from Arsenal in January 2002 at Rotherham United. His first league goal came for the Hornets against Burnley a month later.

Steven Gerrard has scored three goals in his last five league games, while Craig Bellamy has three in three.

When Liverpool and Watford met for the first time ever in league football in 1982-83 they ended up finishing first and second with the Reds clinching their 14th title.

Liverpool's biggest league win over Watford came in November 1987 when they won 4-0 here.

Of the 32 league goals that Liverpool have ever scored against today's opponents Ian Rush has scored nine of them.

Liverpool are currently unbeaten in 25 league games at Anfield. It is their best sequence since 1991 when they went 26 matches at home without losing in the top Division. The run is made up of 21 wins and four draws with only seven goals conceded. They have kept 18 clean sheets in that time since Chelsea won here in October 2005.

The Reds home record is the best in the Premiership, along with Chelsea, seven wins and two draws from nine games.

Liverpool have not conceded a league goal in 550 minutes (nine hours 10 minutes) since William Gallas scored for Arsenal last month.

Watford have only ever won one of their 28 away games in the Premiership at Anfield in August 1999.

They have scored just two goals in their last six games (and four in the last 10 in the league). The last time they scored more than once in a league game was on 4th November when they recorded their only success in the Premiership this season-a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Their tally of 11 goals this season, is along with West Ham, the lowest of any team in any of the four Divisions.

Graham Taylor led Watford to their only other Premier League venture in 1999-2000.

Last season Watford finished third in the Championship before beating Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Play-Off Semi-Final and Leeds 3-0 in the Final.

Malky Mackay has won promotion to the Premiership for three consecutive seasons with Norwich in 2004, West Ham in 2005 and Watford last season.

Aidy Boothroyd is the Premier League's youngest current manager at the age of 35.
