I want to thank the fans who have all been behind us through this dark period. We have closed 2006 well with this victory, a change of year and our championship will change. The team is starting to play well after so many tough injuries and even Kalac, Kaladze, Gattuso and Kakà felt a bit of pain at the end of the first half. When Kakà came off we had 11 out of 25 players injured which is incredible. Gilardino is now scoring consistently and there are plenty of positive notes to take from the match this afternoon, then Ricardo Oliveira scored a great goal which was pleasing and shows we have to be cautious with judgements. Ancelotti was ready to use Pirlo in the centre of defence because he knew he could play there. This spirit will serve us well in gaining a Champions League place. We have a lot of competition but now we will see Milan move up. Congratulations to Kalac who is a good goalkeeper and Ricardo Oliveira who is a good player. My ban finished a few hours ago, which is another good sign, I am happy to look ahead because the missing twenty points means we have to collect more but the penalty was a bad thing to do to Milan.

I have a problem with my Achilles tendon. I am happy that we are going to get a few days off so I can relax and take care of this problem. AC Milan is like a big family that has to face good times and bad times. But we are going to do much better next year.

Coach Ancelotti asked me to play as a defender. It is not something I am used to doing, but I had done it already in Lecce. 2007 is going to be a great year for us, I'm sure of it.

RICARDO OLIVEIRA

To me it was important to score, but also for the team too because now we can be more relaxed. I am really happy not just for myself, but for all of my team-mates.
