CHELSEA FC: SQUAD STAYS THE SAME FOR WIGAN
/noticias.info/ John Terry and Carlo Cudicini remain on the injured list for today's trip to Wigan after Chelsea took an unchanged squad north.
Terry is yet to recover sufficiently from a back problem that occurred before last week's visit to Everton while Cudicini has been absent for the last five games with a leg muscle strain suffered at Bolton.
Joe Cole and Petr Cech are longer term injured.
'It is the same situation as we had on Wednesday night at Newcastle,' assistant manager Steve Clarke reported on Chelsea TV.
'No changes from that, we take the same squad.
'Maybe some of the younger players haven't been used as much as they would like so far this season,' he added, 'but they are going to get their opportunity over the next four games.
'They have to step forward and do a good job for the team.'
Geremi explains that his captain can still have an influence on the team, even when he is not available for the duty on the pitch.
'He is still there and sometimes he travels with us,' explains the right-back. 'We need him because he is a character to motivate us.'
Geremi also revealed that Terry presented every member of the squad with a Christmas present on Friday - a specially-made book of photographs of the high points of last season's championship win.
'It is a big blow he is injured,' admitted Geremi. 'We have a good squad but we know JT is the first choice and he is the guy that normally all the time is there.
'Now we have to do without him.'
