Mantova are one of the division’s top sides and after missing out on promotion by a hair’s breadth last year, they are gunning for a play-off place once again this term.

In the 4-4-2 favoured by coach Di Carlo, goalkeeper Brivio and the central defensive pairing of Notari and Sacchetti stand out, but it’s the midfield which boasts the most quality. Brambilla and Sommese patrol the middle while three wingers compete for the two places available on the flanks: Sommese, Tarana and Caridi, all of whom have the characteristics of good pace and positional sense in common. In attack, Mantova place their faith in the physical paring of Bernacci (ex Cesena) and Graziani (son of former Italian international Francesco Graziani), though Di Carlo also has the option of playing the agile Caridi up front if he wishes to switch things round. notas_de_prensa_archivo
