PSV: Koeman: "Kluivert played a crucial role'
/noticias.info/ At the post-match press conference PSV head coach Ronald Koeman praised Patrick Kluivert for a fine first half performance. The striker, who had been handed his first start with PSV, set up the first two goals of the night. Koeman admitted his side leaned back after the break, but added he did not mind.
"We started brightly and circulated the ball well during the first 25 minutes. We efficiently took our chances and wrapped up the game in no time. It gave us an opportunity to field some fringe players in the second half. We did not maintain our high tempo after the break, but I didn’t mind. We had already made sure of victory in the early stages. The players will not be too tired and can now look ahead at Tuesday’s clash with Feyenoord.”
Koeman praised Patrick Kluivert for a fine first half performance. "He played a crucial role in the opening stages. He was a genuine target man, kept possession of the ball and set up his team mates. He created a great chance for Mendez and then he found Ibrahim Afellay with a lovely backheel pass. Afellay superbly blasted home the opening goal.” Koeman announced that Jefferson Farfán is match fit and is set to start against Feyenoord. notas_de_prensa_archivo
