EVERTON FC: MOYES ON SOUTHGATE
/noticias.info/ David Moyes has labelled Gareth Southgate's introduction to management as very different from his own.
The Everton boss served a managerial apprenticeship at Preston North End, where he successfully guided the club through the divisions until they reached the brink of the Premiership itself.
Southgate, however, made an instant switch from Premiership player to manager when he succeeded Steve McClaren at The Riverside during the summer.
"Gareth Southgate's situation is very different to mine," said Moyes. "I started at a lower club where I was a coach then an assistant manager so I came up through the ranks.
"I had done all my preparation and I feel as though I learned my trade, which you to do at times. Gareth has done things differently but there is no right or wrong way to do it."
When assessing the differences between the respective routes into top-flight management, Moyes admitted that Southgate's position was more difficult to adjust to.
"Definitely, because you go straight into a Premiership club with very little experience having only just finished as a player must be tough," he said.
"But Gareth has been a very good player and he seems like a level-headed guy so hopefully he wont find the job too hard." notas_de_prensa_archivo
