ARSENAL: Paddy Power charity bet of the weekend
/noticias.info/ Paddy Power, Arsenal's official online betting partner, will donate a £50 stake every week for Arsenal.com to make a charity bet. Last season the charity bet raised over £2,000 for the Rocastle Trust. This season all winnings will be presented to Arsenal's chosen charity for the 2006/07 season, The Willow Foundation.
Away wins for Blackburn and Norwich scuppered both our doubles last weekend so the charity bet account balance remains at £1196.18.
The FA Cup takes centre stage this week and we're backing Blackburn and Chelsea to advance. Rovers got the better of Arsenal in their Fifth-Round replay and followed that up with an impressive win at Bolton. On recent form it's hard to see Manchester City stopping Mark Hughes' side, particularly at Ewood Park.
Chelsea should also book a place in the last four at the expense of Tottenham. Spurs are in Braga on Thursday night for a Uefa Cup tie and the Blues will have a vital 48 hours extra recovery time after their own European excursions in midweek. Jose Mourinho has the luxury of rotating his squad without diminishing his team's performance and they should have too much for Spurs at Stamford Bridge.
The Premiership takes a weekend off but there is plenty of Championship action on the agenda. Sunderland have been hugely impressive since the turn of the year and emerged with seven points from a tough run of fixtures against Birmingham, Derby and West Brom. Roy Keane's side should find life easier at Barnsley this weekend.
Preston North End are also a decent bet away from home. They got back on track with a good win against Southampton last time out. Preston badly need the points to boost their promotion bid and they should three of them at Hull. The Tigers are struggling at the opposite end of the table and shipped five goals at home to Ipswich in their last game.
Here's a reminder of this weekend's bets. notas_de_prensa_archivo
