ARSENAL: Clichy - We have no excuse not to win trophies

Gael Clichy refused to offer any excuses for Arsenal’s Champions League exit this week. The left back still believes the future is bright for his side but he was understandably down after they went out of their third competition in the space of 11 days.

"When you want to be a top club you have to win trophies,” he said. “In two weeks we lost everything and it is hard to take.

“Against PSV I think we showed again we have great quality but, of course, you can't say that every week. You have to win games and win trophies. We all agree with that.

"It is difficult. Cardiff was a Final and the Carling Cup is a trophy. We are all disappointed with the way it has gone over the last two weeks. We have to accept that and try harder to do something for the rest of the season.

“We have to look to the future now. This game is finished and we have to put it behind us. We now just have to get in fourth position in the Premiership." notas_de_prensa_archivo
