CHELSEA FC: TERRY TRAINS

/noticias.info/ Fri, 9th Mar 2007

The Chelsea players returned to training on Thursday after one day's rest following the Champions League win and on the field with them was John Terry.

It was the first time the captain has worked with the squad since being knocked unconscious in the Carling Cup Final 11 days earlier.

He returned after the appropriate medical examination and has not ruled out participation in the FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham.

'I saw a specialist who flew over from Holland to see me and I passed all the tests,' Terry told Chelsea TV after Thursday's session.

'He gave me the go-ahead to join in training with no contact and no heading at the moment. I am aiming towards Sunday but he is the man who makes all these decisions.

'I need to come through the next couple of days unscathed - but it's good to be back involved.'

The head injury was the latest in a series of problems that have hampered the skipper this season, starting with an operation on a troublesome spinal disc with a related calf muscle problem.

Then he turned his ankle away against Porto but won a race to be fit for the Carling Cup showdown next game.

'I played the Final with a big strapping on my ankle but it's fine now,' Terry reports.

'I am doing extra strengthening work to stabilise that with massage and treatment on it.

'The calf is fine also, no reaction from it at all. I had a little lump in my back from the operation that has completely gone so that is a real sign that they have both gone away.

'Hopefully I can come back into the team and stay there this time!' notas_de_prensa_archivo
