CHELSEA FC: JOSE: WE MUST BE AT OUR BEST AT THE BACK

José Mourinho believes Chelsea's defensive performance against Tottenham holds the key to making the FA Cup semi-finals.

Fresh from studying our London rivals' high-scoring Uefa Cup victory in Portugal on Thursday evening, that followed on from their 4-3 win at West Ham and a 4-1 victory over Bolton, Mourinho declared:

'They are living a good moment. They are scoring a lot of goals and they are winning matches.

Tottenham have not just good but very good attacking players and we need to play a good defensive game.

Normally we score goals, especially at home, and the important part of the job is to stop very good players from playing their game.'

In light of this assessment, it is no wonder Mourinho is keen for his captain to return at the back this weekend.

John Terry rejoined the squad in training on Thursday following his head injury in the Carling Cup Final 12 days ago.

Speaking about the player's availability for the FA Cup tie after Friday's training session, Mourinho announced:

'He is training normally. He is doing everything like everyone else, he is heading the ball - so if it is my choice, I would say yes.

'But it is not my choice. I have to wait for a final report from the medical side and they will make that decision. But yes, I want him to play.

'I know it is a difficult game to play on Sunday but when you play in these stages of competitions, there are no easy draws. If we want to be in the Final, we have to beat the best teams. We'll be ready.' notas_de_prensa_archivo
