Question: I've been a Northern Irish Liverpool supporter for many years. My first recollection of Liverpool playing was on what must have been a pre season tour of Northern Ireland against Glentoran FC. I must have only been five or six which probably would have made it 1978/1979. When would this friendly have taken place, how many times have Liverpool played Glentoran in a friendly and have they ever met competitively?
Answer: Liverpool and Glentoran have never met competitively. They have played two friendlies though. Both took place in Northern Ireland – a 1-1 draw in April 1982 and a 4-0 Reds win in August 2000.
