LIVERPOOL FC: ON THIS DAY: FEBRUARY 29, 2004
Harry Kewell scored a superb goal against former club Leeds as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw at Elland Road.
/noticias.info/ The Aussie broke the deadlock against the Premiership's bottom-placed side with a delightful curling effort on 21 minutes.
But Eddie Gray's team hit back and led through Erik Bakke and Mark Viduka until Milan Baros fired in just before half-time to drag Gerard Houllier's men level.
It proved to be the end of the scoring as both sides were forced to settle for a point when really they needed three.
Reds boss Houllier was frustrated with the draw but paid tribute to Leeds' fighting spirit.
"If that team are bottom of the League then the Premiership is a very high standard," he said.
"I think Leeds were a handful - very difficult to deal with - and you have to give them credit for that. It would be a shame if they went down. It was a smashing game." notas_de_prensa_archivo
