EVERTON FC: YAK'S IMPROVEMENT
/noticias.info/ David Moyes is delighted with the work ethic of Yakubu.
The striker is in tremendous goalscoring form at the moment, but his manager is equally pleased with his all-round contribution to the team.
The Yak popped up in the left-back position during the 6-1 win over SK Brann, and ran tirelessly to relieve the pressure as the Blues defended their 2-0 lead at Man City.
His hard work - and goals of course - haven't gone unnoticed by the boss.
Moyes told evertonfc.com: "He has added more goals but his play has improved since he came here. He is enjoying his time and he has become a big factor.
"I always thought that for anybody who comes to Everton, part and parcel of the job is to fit into the work environment and from our point of view, I think he has.
"We relied heavily on Andy (Johnson) and Tim for goals and I knew when we brought him in that if he scored the goals he had scored at tother clubs, then that would add to our goal total and that has proven to be the case."
Another player whose contribution to the goals total can't be ignored is Joleon Lescott.
The ex-Wolves man is currently on eight goals, but Moyes insists he hasn't issued a ten-goal challenge to the defender.
"I've not set him a target but I keep saying good centre halves are capable of scoring ten goals and hopefully by the end of the season, Joleon will have done that," said the Blues boss.
"He has done very well in defence and in attack." notas_de_prensa_archivo
