FUTSAL CUP: Bosnia-Herzegovina in Spain's path
/noticias.info/ FIFA Futsal World Cup holders Spain must beat Bosnia-Herzegovina over two legs to reach this autumn's finals in Brazil after the 12-team play-off draw was made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Hat-trick bid
Reigning European champions Spain won the last two World Cups in 2000 and 2004, and after travelling to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the week beginning 29 March will stage the second leg a fortnight later. Italy, runners up to Spain in the last World Cup as well as the 2007 UEFA European Futsal Championship, face Croatia while two-time global semi-finalists Russia, who missed out in 2004, are up against Belarus.
Expanded finals
Of the other sides that qualified last time around in Chinese Taipei, Ukraine face Hungary, Portugal meet Slovenia and the Czech Republic hope to gain revenge for their UEFA European Futsal Championship defeat by Romania. The total of six European berths is increased from the previous tally of five in the expanded 20-team competition, which runs from 30 September to 19 October, with the finals draw in Brasilia on 6 July. notas_de_prensa_archivo
