WORLD CUP: Official hospitality programme launched for South Africa

/noticias.info/ After taking care of 323,000 guests at the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, FIFA is, together with its new exclusive partner MATCH Hospitality AG, once again aiming to provide hospitality of the highest standard at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup, both in South Africa.

The official hospitality programme was launched today (5 March) at a reception in Johannesburg in the presence of FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke and CEO of the OC 2010 Danny Jordaan by Jaime Byrom, Executive Chairman of MATCH Hospitality AG, and Pascal Portes, Chief Operating Officer of MATCH Hospitality AG. At the same time, the new South African joint venture formed by Primedia and SAIL was presented as the exclusive sales agent for South Africa and the rest of the Sub-Saharan Africa region, acting under the MATCH Hospitality umbrella. The South African products will go on sale in June 2008, whereas the international hospitality package sales will start in September 2008. To register, please visit www.FIFA.com/hospitality.

"It is great to see that the hospitality programme is now really coming to fruition. For FIFA, it is very important to give the host market priority in various areas and therefore we are very pleased that South Africa has been given prime access to the hospitality packages," said FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke.

The FIFA Hospitality Programme offers guests a wide range of services such as match tickets, facilities at the stadiums (including private suites and lounges, marquee tents, catering, parking, transportation, entertainment and gifts) and, for the first time, optional full hospitality packages including tourism activities, accommodation and transportation in South Africa and neighbouring countries. MATCH Hospitality AG is the only company that has been authorised by FIFA to sell exclusive on-site hospitality packages including services and tickets for every match of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

"South Africa is one of the global leaders in the hospitality industry and is known for its excellent cuisine and wine. The FIFA World Cup is a great opportunity to showcase the richness of our country to guests from around the globe. I am delighted that MATCH Hospitality is working with the local industry to activate this key programme," said Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee, who added: "The hospitality programme provides a lot of business opportunities to various sectors, from transportation to tourist packages and service providers."

Three package categories are available: private suites, shared suites and category 1 tickets combined with hospitality services. Each category can be combined in venue- or team-specific series for clients who are keen to leverage business relationships in the refined environment of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, or for those looking to provide access to the world's greatest single-sport event for their top employees. In addition, bespoke programmes are available for larger groups who are looking to deliver a unique FIFA World Cup experience to reflect their individual brand and corporate objectives.

"MATCH Hospitality is delighted to have South African partners on board who have such long-standing and successful relationships and expertise on the football marketing scene and who will, no doubt, contribute to the overall success of the 2010 hospitality programme. We are thrilled to present this project today for the first FIFA World Cup on African soil, a programme that is designed to leave a lasting legacy in South Africa," said Jaime Byrom, Executive Chairman of MATCH Hospitality AG. notas_de_prensa_archivo
