EVERTON FC: FARA SCORES FOR ENGLAND

Williams was a livewire from the off, setting up Kelly Smith, who was denied by keeper Emma Higgins before giving England the lead.

Following Smith’s blocked shot, the midfielder pounced on the rebound to stab the ball home into an empty net.

The Three Lions had plenty of chances to extend their lead but could not find a way through until six minutes from time.

White drove the ball into the roof of the net after a goalmouth scramble.
