EVERTON FC: MIKEL BACK STRONGER
/noticias.info/ Mikel Arteta has revealed his two week break from action has helped him overcome the injury problem that has dogged him since October.
The influential Spanish playmaker has been playing through the pain barrier because of a persistent stomach and groin problem.
In a bid to overcome the problem the 25-year-old missed the games against SK Brann, Manchester City and Portsmouth in order to rest in Spain.
He returned to the side as a substitute for Thursday night's defeat to Fiorentina in Italy and admitted afterwards his break from training and playing has helped ease the problem.
He told evertonTV exclusively: "I feel better I did not feel any pain so that is a positive thing. I am ready to start helping the team again and hopefully get fully fit and playing well again.
"We lost (on Thursday) but that is the way football is. I remain positive - I think we can do it back in England and we all think the same.
"It was not the best night for us and they deserved to win because they played better and created more chances than us but we have now got the game at Goodison and we believe we can do it.
"If we had scored one it would have made a big impact for the second game but the game is still open, there is still a chance and we are going to fight. If we score at Goodison they will feel under pressure." notas_de_prensa_archivo
